These series of images by Melbourne artist Mark Weichard, are drawn from the Australian experience of life and environment.
They feature hand rolled and coloured block prints. This works are connected by their relationship to water.
They explore how water interacts with the land, how it shapes the earth and allows unique wildlife and plantlife to flourish;
from tropical forests and seasonal wetlands to harsh desert landscapes. The works are in search of our country’s ‘spirit of place’;
they are in search of the sacred buried deep within the land and flourishing in the natural world it nurtures and supports.
They feature hand rolled and coloured block prints and works on paper.
